There Is A Light

So, Saturday we meet again. I have yet another awesomely, wonderfully, brilliant story for you. I know I may be doing a bit of older fics here, but trust me oldies are always goodies.

 Onward!
Summery: This was 1987; before the Internet, before Twitter, before Facebook – this was back when it was still possible for people not to know about things: big things - like bands, and little things - like G-spots. AH, ExB, with some other parings along the way.

What can I say about this fic that hasn't already been said? I don't think there's much, but I'll try. I'm such a Huge fan of stories like this. I can't say that enough. I crave fics that have me screaming and crying at my screen for all the things I want the characters to do. And this fic had me right till the end, with tons of turns and questions. I wanted to know what every word, and look meant, and man I want to punch Edward a lot. I wanted to punch Bela sometimes too, but I can totally relate to being young and in love with something you really shouldn't be in love with.

This fic has made it's way onto the top of a very short, die hard Love list for me. I think there's only 4 others giving it company right now. And for me that's saying a lot... Well at least I hope it says a lot. I know as soon as this posts I'll be found nose first rereading this baby for the 5th or 6th time.

Yeah, it's that good.

"The story began a long time ago," I explain, pushing my daughter's long brown hair out of her face and behind her ear.

"How long ago, Mommy?"

I quickly do the math. Then I gasp. "Twenty-four years ago."

"That's close to a hundred, right?"

"Closer to that than I'd like, Little One," I chuckle.

"And you were a girl then?"

"I was almost grown up, but not quite."

"Like a teenager?"

"Exactly. I was a teenager."

"And you lived with Grandpa and Grandma?"

I pause. It's hard to believe my parents ever lived under the same roof. I don't like to remember that time in their history.

"Yes. They still lived together, then."

"But not anymore, right?"

"Right. This story began when they were just beginning divorce proceedings."

Pimp A Fic - Sweet Temptations by @tmusings

Today's Pimp A Fic is a Carlisle/Esme story written by @tmusings

How did you come up with the idea for this story?
I used to find myself wondering what on earth was Carlisle thinking when he decided not to court Esme when they first met, back in 1911. It was a little frustrating to know how the story developed after that, and how their love story almost ended in a tragedy. So, I felt the need to write a "What if Carlisle had asked Esme in marriage back then?" The idea felt interesting because it would be similar to what happened to Edward and Bella, but in a different timeframe, and with the curious thinking of the Victorian/Edwardian society.

What drew you to this genre?
I'm addicted to read about forbidden romances, that's what pulled me into the Twilight world in the first place. What can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic.

What drew you to this pairing?
It's their love story. We all know that Edward waited a hundred years to find his soul mate, but Carlisle waited almost three-hundred years for Esme, and when he found her, he stepped back because he didn't want to take her human life. Ten years later their paths crossed one more time, but Esme was lying loveless in a morgue; presumed dead before him. That inevitably moved me. Esme waking up later to see the love of her life was by her side, was enough for me to fan girl like a teenager.
